Are you planning to explore Asia for your
next holiday? We totally recommend you consider taking a trip to Bali. Also known
as the “island of the Gods”, this beautiful country with its mouth-watering
cuisine, diversity and lovely weather will surely hold a special place in your
heart. It has something in store for all kinds of people, be it quaint
coastlines, yoga retreats or crazy parties. No wonder tourist from all over the
world flock to Bali all around the year. While it is a favourite with
honeymooners, it is also equally possible for backpackers and tourists on a
budget to have a fabulous time in Bali.
When
is the best time to visit Bali?
This is one of the best things about this
country. Due to its beautiful weather, you can visit it any time all round the
year. Temperatures remain at a constant almost all round the year. It rains
from December-March. Most of this rain falls in the afternoons, which leaves
your mornings and evenings free to explore outdoors. We also recommend
witnessing the beauty of the lush greenery during the monsoon. Overall, whether
you choose to visit Bali during its dry season or the monsoon- you will surely
be amazed by its beauty.
What
to do in Bali?
To begin with, hit up the Sanur beach. This
beautiful and long beach has beautiful places to swim, restaurants, and hotels.
You can take your pick of places to stay in or just keep exploring. Don’t forget
to hit up the Sanur Night Market!
If you have travel insurance and an
International Driver’s License, we recommend renting a moto and exploring
nearby beaches. It will not only save you the hassle of public transport but is
also a fun way of seeing places.
If you want to have a laidback and chill
holiday, head to Uluwatu without a doubt. The coastline is amazing, the
parties are wild, the food is delicious, and the sunsets are unbelievably
gorgeous. What more could you ask for?
After you are done with the beaches and
parties, we recommend you head to Ubud to see a different side of Bali. This
region is blessed with lush green landscapes, rice terraces and yoga studios,
which makes it perfect for a zen holiday. Ubud has many options for cheap
accommodations, so travellers with all kinds of budgets can soak in this
experience. The vibrant night markets here make it a shoppers’ paradise.
What
is the best way to get around in Bali?
While we recommend renting a moto for an
adventurous and fun way to explore Bali, in case you want a more comfortable
mode of conveyance, take an Uber. Uber is really cheap here. Another
interesting thing you could do here is to hire a private driver. It will cost
you around $40 U.S.D and is a great way to explore Bali if you can split the
cost with your friends. The drivers are all super friendly, and will take you
to wood-cutting, temples, shopping, waterfalls, and wherever else you’d want to
go.
Where
to stay in Bali?
There are plenty of accommodation options
in Bali for you to choose from, depending on your budget. If you don’t mind
splurging a bit, private villas are the best places to stay in Bali as they are
usually very well maintained, comfortable and well serviced. They usually
include a shared pool and a beautiful garden. Or you could book a villa in the
middle of a forest and enjoy the greenery. All these options are great value
for money. If you are on a budget, there are a plenty of budget hotels and
backpacker hostels to choose from.
With plenty of delicious local food like
Satay (grilled meat skewers), Betutu (stuffed duck or chicken), Nasi Ayam (fried
rice), Urab –(mixed vegetables) and the famous fried noodles Nasi Goreng to
choose from, you can be assured of a great gastronomic journey in Bali without
